24 Hour vs 40 Hour HAZWOPER

Workers often ask whether they need 24 Hour or 40 Hour HAZWOPER training. In general, 40 Hour HAZWOPER training is commonly associated with broader hazardous waste operations and greater potential exposure conditions, while 24 Hour HAZWOPER training is often used for workers with more limited duties and lower anticipated exposure conditions.

The correct training level is determined by the employer based on the worker’s responsibilities and the hazards present at the site.
